
Reserve Deputy Program

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office utilizes a Reserve Deputy Program to augment it's patrol efforts and provide other support as deemed necessary. Members of the communities who volunteer for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office Reserve Deputy Program are required to meet the same hiring qualifications as those becoming full-time Deputy Sheriff. Non-certified candidates must successfully Reserved Training Program administered by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. The Reserve Deputy Sheriff is required to "ride along" with a Field Training Instructor and complete the same requirements as regular Deputy Sheriff.
